The ecoSelect program is designed for builders with two distinct advantages. Every ecoSelect is rated using the nationally-recognized HERS Index, and distinguished for going beyond minimum design standards in order to meet a higher level of indoor air quality and energy efficiency. In order to be eligible to certify homes under the ecoSelect program, builders are required to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the ecoSelect program.
The ecoSelect designation reassures homeowners that the home they are buying is not only energy efficient, but also more comfortable and healthier than standard code-built homes on the market. Through a series of comprehensive on-site inspections during the construction of the home, homeowners can buy with added confidence knowing their home is healthier, more comfortable and energy efficient.

HOW IT WORKS:
Builder reviews the ecoSelect standards and requirements
Builder submits a completed ecoSelect project registration form and copy of plans to the energy rater
A certified energy rater completes a preliminary plan review and energy analysis
Builder contacts certified energy rater to schedule on-site inspection and performance testing
5. FINAL INSPECTION
Builder contacts certified energy rater to schedule on-site final inspection and performance testing
If the home meets all specifications and requirements, a finalized energy performance report and ecoSelect label are released to Builder indicating the home's certification
